- BS7799(1) for Information Security
Management
Our Internet Data Centres (Powerb@se) and the
Application Management Services Centre are the
first internet data centre and command centre
respectively in Hong Kong to obtain the BS7799
Certification for security management. BS7799
is the most widely accepted international standard
on best practice for information security management.
- BS7799(2) for Information Security
Management
Our Internet Data Centres (Powerb@se) and the
Application Management Services Centre further
attained BS7799(2), which specifies requirements
for establishing, implementing, and documenting
information security management systems (ISMS).
Attaining this certification demonstrates our
commitment in protecting information in our
possession and establishes a quality model among
all IT&T companies.
- BS7799(2) Associate Consulting Partner
Certification
We were also granted a special Associate Consulting
Partner status, which means we will be able
to offer British Standards Institute recognized
services to other organizations to help them
achieve their own certification.
- CMMI Level 5 for Outsourcing and
Managed Services
Our Outsourcing and Managed Services (OMS) has
been assessed at maturity level 5, the highest
maturity level of the Capability Maturity Model
Integration – Software (CMMI-SW). CMMI
is the world’s leading industry standard
for software engineering excellence established
by Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie
Mellon University, Pittsburg, USA.
Customers now have an additional comfort level
knowing that PCCW Solutions is not only capable of delivering
agreed services but also that the OMS process
is being continuously assessed to meet CMMI
requirements. It demonstrates our commitment
to delivering high quality application development
and maintenance services to our customers in
compliance to international standards.
- ISO9001 for Network and IT Services
By continuous effort in striving for the best
practice to provide quality solutions and services,
we were awarded the Certification of ISO9001
in Network and IT Services. Customers can be
assured of enjoying premium quality in IT network

- SunTone[SM]
Certification
Our Internet Data Centres (Powerb@se) are the
first Internet data centres in Asia to receive
the SunMicrosystems’ SunTone[SM]
Certification for delivery of high quality services.
The program recognizes the investments and
commitments made by companies in processes,
methodology and infrastructure – elements
that ensure delivery of secure, reliable and
predictable Internet service.

- Gold Award of the Application Category
of 6th IT Excellence Awards (SMARTICS)
Rated in terms of the improvement in functionality,
productivity, competitiveness, cost performance
and its favourable societal impact, the Hong
Kong Smart Identity Card System (SMARTICS) has
won the Gold Award of the Application Category
of 6th IT Excellence Awards conferred by the
Hong Kong Computer Society.
With the state-of-the-art technology, the smart
ID card lays a solid foundation for future e-applications
and e-commerce development. We are proud of
being the prime contractor and system integrator
of the SMARTICS. And, we are committed to the
continual promotion of smart cards, the application
of e-Cert and the development of e-commerce
in HK.
- Breakthrough Implementation Award
(SMARTICS)
The leading US-based international publication
Card Technology Magazine presented the HKSAR
Immigration Department the award for Breakthrough
Implementation for introduction of the territory’s
Smart Identity Card System (SMARTICS).
As the prime contractor and system integrator,
PCCW Solutions led an international consortium involving
10 subcontractors to provide computer-encrypted
smart cards to the government. The complexity
of SMARTICS and stringent requirements on
data privacy and security demonstrates PCCW Solutions'
ability to design and build such a top quality
and efficient smart-card solution by integrating
advanced technologies from around the world.
The award further reinforces PCCW Solutions'
world class capabilities, and the excellence
of our professional IT team which supported
this project through each phase, from project
management, system development and engineering
to operations and related services.

Gold Performer, ACW Readers Choice Award
Powerb@se has won the Asia Computer Weekly Magazine
Readers’ Choice 2003 for the “Gold
